Education and training

Some of the unit's researchers, engineers and associate-professor teach at the Institut Agro Montpellier and at the University of Montpellier. At Insitut Agro Montpellier, the courses concern digital technologies for agriculture and the environment (AgroTIC enginneering Master Degree), environmental technologies and eco-evaluation and eco-design methods (Water Sciences and Chemistry and Bio-processes for Sustainable Development enginneering Master Degree).

UMR ITAP is attached to two doctoral schools:

- GAIA (n°584):

The University of Montpellier resulting from the merger of the Universities of Montpellier 1 and 2 on 1st January 2015 is the main institution of the GAIA Doctoral School, co-accredited with Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech and the Ecole des Mines d'Alès. The GAIA Doctoral School is one of the 7 doctoral schools that make up the Doctoral College of the University of Montpellier, in connection with the MUSE I-Site project.

In January 2021, the Doctoral School GAIA will welcome almost 570 doctoral students and, through 6 doctoral sections and 48 research units, will have almost 800 members of staff authorised to direct research (HDR; thesis director),
as well as several associated external research teams
Since January 1st, 2021, the GAIA Doctoral School is under the responsibility of Valérie MICARD (Director).

- I2S (n°166) :

The Doctoral School «Information, Structures and Systems» (I2S, ED 166) is born in 1993 in the form of a doctoral school dedicated to the sciences of and for the engineer. It has been considerably developed since, successively integrating mathematics in 1998 and physics in 2007.

There are now 7 PhD specialties: Biostatistics, Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics and Modeling, Mechanics and Civil Engineering, Physics and Astrophysics, Automatic and Micro-Electronic Systems. 

Today, this school welcomes more 400 PhD students in more than thirty internationally renowned host units, whom we support daily for their training through and for research and their professional integration. A wide range of complementary training is also offered by the Doctoral College of the University of Montpellier.
